The members of the Prince Philip Centre PHAB (physically disabled/able bodied) Club
are sad to learn of the death of Sir Jimmy Savile OBE KG.
Over the years he has given dedicated support to the Prince Philip Centre PHAB Club in Leeds.
For many years he was the National President of PHAB.
Whilst President he started the famous Sponsored Heartbeat Hike which still takes place in London's Hyde Park. He named the Sponsored Walk 'Hearbeat Hike' - his feeling were 'No matter what disability any person has they all have a hearbeat' and so everyone can take part somehow...whether it is walking a few steps or being pushed in a wheelchair.
